Welcome to Engineering Open House 2008...

Engineering Open House is a two day event held at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign to showcase the latest in science and technology from the university's professors, students, and sponsoring corporations. EOH annually attracts over 20,000 visitors to learn, experiment, and play with science. EOH is a great educational experience for all ages and many schools use EOH as a fieldtrip to show their students how science is important in everything around them. Engineering Open House has over 200 exhibits ranging from Concrete Crushing (a process to test the strength of construction material in an shattering way...), Liquid Nitrogen Table (take everyday objects and place them in -350F liquid nitrogen and see what happens to them), and many more.

Design Contest Winners

High School Design Contest (HSDC) was to build a Rube Goldburg Machine that uses a single starting point to start a 20 or more step process to assemble a full hamburger with bun, meat, and codiments without any further human intervention.

1st Place - Pekin High School with "Bun Top Diner"
2nd Place - Cornerstone Discovery Group with "Generic Scottish Diner"
